During the 15th edition of the Lauswolt Summer Concert on Sunday 23 June, the North Netherlands Symphony Orchestra, under Swedish conductor Per-Otto Johansson, will take concert goers on a wonderful journey through the classical repertoire of Wagner and Tchaikovsky, via opera arias by Verdi and Puccini to the big hits by rock band Queen. The soloists are Drenthe-born and internationally acclaimed soprano Annemarie Kremer and Joseph Clark, THE interpretor of the Queen repertoire. One of the most fantastic pieces on the programme will be kept until the end: the song Barcelona that Freddie Mercury once sang with soprano Montserrat Caballé. The concert will be presented by Flikken Maastricht star and classical music promoter Angela Schijf.
From 14.30h you will be welcomed with a delicious aperitif, followed by a festive 'High Wine’, where we will serve a range of delectable wines and canapés. The Lauswolt Summer Concert starts at 15.00h and will conclude at around 17.00h with the final part of the High Wine. Would you like to bring your children? There will be a special programme of activities for children (age 4 to 12), leaving you free to enjoy the concert.
The North Netherlands Symphony Orchestra (NNO) is an adventurous symphony orchestra which travels new paths without losing sight of the essence of their mission: to keep the symphony repertoire alive by playing at a top level and within interesting and exciting programmes. The NNO is primarily from and for the north of the Netherlands. The orchestra enjoys playing to its regular audience and to other music and culture enthusiasts, in concert halls, in open air concerts, during festivals and in schools. We believe that the secret to an intense classical music experience lies in the live performance of the orchestra and in the connection between the musicians and the audience.
