After our mother our horse
Hans Jouta, visual artist from Ferwert, made a life-size statue of a Frisian horse and her foal. These two 'black pearls' have found their home in the front garden of Landgoed Lauswolt in Beetsterzwaag. The combination gives the statue its own character and lively energy. The foal frolic and discover, the mare lets herself go and herds. It symbolises the cooperation between recipient and donor. The statue is a gift from Stichting FB Oranjewoud to the employees of the estate.
This year marks the fifth anniversary of Hotel Landgoed Lauswolt becoming an independent subsidiary of FB Oranjewoud Participaties. Since then, there has been a major investment in rooms, facilities and people. Thanks to the enormous commitment of employees, 'hospitality' has been literally and figuratively reshaped. In addition, the hotel is a training ground for ambitious students.
'Us hynder' stands on a stainless steel frame. Hans Jouta started building on this with small pieces of bronze. Plate by plate, weld by weld. Alert to the identity characteristics of the Frisian horse that are so dear to the breeder. Jouta previously made statues of Johan Cruijff and footballer Abdelhak Nouri, among others. Jouta worked on 'ús hynder' for over a year. Hotel director Marc van Gulick and foundation chairman Jorrit Volkers jointly unveiled the statue. Paralympic rider Rixt van der Horst, together with ten riders on their Frisian horses, brought a welcome greeting to 'ús hynder'.
