The former country house with coach house was built in 1868 by Jonkheer Lycklama a Nijeholt, together with Architect Samuel Adrianus van Lunteren from Utrecht. The monumental building served for many years as a coach house and coachman's residence. In 1997 the former coach house was converted into accommodation in old English country house style. Six rooms were realized including a special bridal suite, which is still equipped with a Jacuzzi. The coach house became famous because of the secret meetings of political leaders in the Netherlands to come to a new cabinet. These summit meetings took place in the coach house in 2007 and led to the formation of the Balkenende IV cabinet. Since mid-2020 the coach house has been rebuilt, this time into a luxury group accommodation with 7 luxurious rooms with private bathrooms.
